John Conqueror Root named after John the Conqueror (Ipomoea purga) also and variously known as High John the Conqueror, John de Conquer, John the Conqueroo and Jalap and many other folk variants, was a folk hero from African-American folklore. He is associated with John Conqueror root to which “magical” powers are ascribed in American folklore; especially among the hoodoo tradition of folk magic. It’s also known that the seeds of plants belonging to the genus
The root and its magical uses are mentioned in a number of blues lyrics. Regardless of which name is used, in these contexts “conqueror” is pronounced “conker” or sometimes “conqueroo”

REAL high quality High John the Conqueror roots (nothing at all like the fake roots being sold as High John roots here on Etsy by some sellers,which are actually "fruits" of the Terminalia chebula/ink nuts,and no root at all) I for sure will return to this seller in the future.Many thanks😊 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
